Location: Tin Can Bay, QLD
Tin Can Bay Tourist Park is located in Tin Can Bay, on the beautiful Cooloola Coast in Queensland. The park is surrounded by lush bush that hosts an abundance of bird life. Whilst visiting you can take a short stroll to the shops, cafes, restaurants and foreshore, feed the rare Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins, or just relax along the water’s edge.
The tourist park features both cabin and camping options, with new modern facilities that include a camp kitchen, pool-side BBQ hut, a laundry and clean family amenities.
The tourist park is a two and a half hour drive north of Brisbane, just off the southern tip of the World Heritage Fraser Island.

We enjoyed our short two night say here. We opted for the powered site and it was decent in size, but it would be challenging backing into if the park was full, especially with a larger van.
They offered various accommodation options including cabins, en-suite, slab and grass sites. The swimming pool was heated and nice to swim in at the start of winter. There were full amenities blocks including showers, toilets and pay-to-use laundry services.
The park was only a 10 minute bike ride into town and a nice ride along the foreshore with lots of children’s playgrounds and a skate park along the way. It’s less than 30 minutes from Rainbow Beach and Inskip, so it’s a great place to stay before your trip to Fraser Island.
The famous dolphin feeding is a must too! When we visited it was 7am daily, but it gets busy, so make sure you arrive early to beat the rush and line-up.
