Tattersalls Hotel Van Park Review
Location: Winton QLD
Location: Winton QLD
The Tattersalls Hotel Van Park is a basic yet comfortable caravan park based in Central QLD, in a small town considered to be the Dinosaur Capital of Australia!
The caravan park is clean and conveniently situated opposite the local pub. It is about an hour and 20 minutes drive from the famous Dinosaur Stampede at Lark Quarry Conservation Park, where the footprints of 3,300 stampeding dinosaurs have been immortalised in stone from over 95 million years ago!
The park provides a good base for checking out the local dinosaur history. It is located on the corner of Werna and Elderslie Street in Winton in central Queensland, about 180km north-west of Longreach.

This was a good, clean caravan park that provided a good base for checking out the local dinosaur history and discovery centre.
The park was only a short walk from town, plus the local pub – which served great food and cold beer – was conveniently located just across the road.
The township of Winton was beautifully maintained with lovely green grass and clean streets. For travellers wanting to venture a little further afield, there are Queensland’s oldest opal fields in Oplaton, which are just over an hour drive away. The Dinosaur Stampede at Lark Quarry Conservation Park is another popular destination, which is about an hour and 20 minutes from the campsite.
Overall this was a good, clean caravan park that was fine for an overnight stopover.
