Stanley Cabin and Tourist Park is located on Wharf Road in the quaint fishing village of Stanley, Tasmania, about two and half hours north-west of Launceston. The town is rich in history and charm, and is home to the most popular tourist attraction in north-west Tasmania… The Nut!
The tourist park is located on the beachfront, offering both powered and unpowered sites suitable for all campers. For travellers wanting a little more luxury, there are basic and waterfront cabins available too.

The location of Stanley Cabin and Tourist Park was fabulous, which I guess is what we were paying for.
We spent a couple of days here and found it comfortable enough. It had everything we needed and was clean, but given our time again we probably would have stayed at the RV park down the road. It was a lot cheaper and seemed to offer the same.
The toilets were clean and there were showers available. Dogs were allowed at the campsite too, but only during off-peak season.
We loved exploring the township which was really beautiful and historic, with lots of old things to see. The cafes and local seafood shop were fabulous! We had fish and chips and highly recommend it. We were told to visit the tavern but unfortunately didn’t make it there.
The infamous ‘Stanley Nut’ was probably the highlight of our stay . We took the chairlift up to the lookout (it didn’t cost much) and spent ages taking in the little signs up there that told us a story about the area. We walked back down the (very) steep hill and were thankful we’d taken the chairlift up as opposed to attempting that hill!
