The towering landscape here was gravity-defying and awe-inspiring, with many of the sandstone columns leaning out on impressive angles. The rock formations were really nice to walk through – it felt almost jurassic. We would recommend moderate fitness for these walks.
The Southern Lost City Campground was a pleasant place to stay and offered a number of drive through camp sites. Some of the sites were shaded and all were hard and rocky. No bookings were required and payment was made via an honesty system with cash in an envelope. One down side was the flies, which were bothersome during the day.
We only needed one night stay here.
