Point Brown Campground is a free spot to pull up the van or pitch the tent with beautiful beachfront views in Smoky Bay, South Australia.
This absolutely stunning spot is about 90km north-west of Streaky Bay, and about 25 minutes off the Flinders Highway. It can be found by driving to the coastal end of Point Brown Road and then heading right. The access roads are best suited to off-road vehicles, and campers need to be fully self-contained as there’s no facilities there.

Point Brown Campground was a hidden gem, and a beautiful spot to sit back and take in the waterfront bay views and the regular sightings of dolphins swimming.
We stayed here three nights, and had a fabulous time exploring the nearby gorgeous rock pools and the sunsets were stunning!
It was quite a big area with lots of space to set up. When we visited it was pretty quiet, and the few campers that were there were spread out amongst the hills, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Access into the camp was via corrugated roads which weren’t too bad. There were a couple of soft patches, so 4WD access is recommended, especially if towing. Up the top of the campground the soil was harder, but the bottom bit was a lot softer.
We stayed three nights and loved every minute.
