McArthur River Caravan Park is a tidy and well maintained park with lovely green grass and plenty of shade. The town of Borroloola is 970km south-east of Darwin and 938km north-west of Mount Isa.
As the fishing locals in Borroloola like to say: “it’s where the big fish come to play”.

McArthur River Caravan Park was set amongst a green, leafy landscape, and was a tidy and well looked after park.
The park was slightly dated, especially the amenities, but they were kept clean and in good working order. It looked like a swimming pool was being built while we were there, and there was a public pool in town however it wasn’t open during our stay.
There were limited things to do here, but it was a good place to restock on supplies with a number of convenience and spare parts stores in town. We used the time to recharge for the upcoming corrugated roads and to cool down with the aircon thanks to our powered site.
We had one night here which was plenty.
