Longford Riverside Caravan Park Review
Location: Longford, TAS
Location: Longford, TAS
Longford Riverside Park is a beautiful spot in central Tasmania, on the banks of the Macquarie River. It’s located on Archer Street in Longford, about 20 minutes from Launceston and 10 minutes from the airport.
The park has 78 powered sites with water, and 50 unpowered sites, some of the spots are even along the picturesque riverbank. The park is conveniently located near a SUPA IGA, cafes, restaurants, bakery and a chemist. It’s a good base for exploring the Northern region of Tassie.

Longford Riverside Caravan Park was the last place we stayed in Tasmania, and it came as quite a surprise.
The campsite had a really nice feel. We scored a spot right on the river where the grass was beautiful, the ducks swam peacefully right in front of us, and the sun sets made our waterfront view even more gorgeous. It was a really lovely spot to hang out and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The caravan park was conveniently located too. It was only 20 minutes from Launceston and 10 minutes from the airport. It would make a good base for checking out most of Tasmania as it was right in the middle of everything. They had a brand new Super IGA too – one of the best we’d come across! The produce was amazing and we did a big stock up here. It was actually in close proximity to quite a few local businesses like cafes, restaurants, a chemist and even a bakery.
The site was a little on the pricey side, but this was probably because we opted for the riverfront campsite. It was stunning though, so we’d do it again in a heart beat.
