Located in the heart of Australia, it’s only fitting that Erldunda Roadhouse Desert Oaks packs a lot of heart itself! The old-fashioned country hospitality extends to a range of comfortable accomodation options, from motel units to drive through caravan and camping sites.
The roadhouse can be found at the intersection of the Stuart and Lasseter Highways in Erldunda, about 270 km east of Ayers Rock, and 200km south of Alice Springs. With a swimming pool, tennis courts, restaurant and bar, it is a comfortable base to call home when visiting and exploring two of Australia’s iconic tourist destinations – Uluru and the Olgas.

The staff at Erldunda Roadhouse Desert Oaks were very welcoming and friendly.
The campsite itself was relatively basic, but comfortable. We managed to score a shady spot with green grass for the night, and made use of the on-site pub where we got ourselves a tasty meal and a cold beer come nightfall.
The highlight for the kids was probably checking out the emu enclosure and cooling off in the pool. We also caught an epic sunset from the Sunset Viewing Platform, which was breathtaking!
We only stopped in here for one night, but it was a comfortable stay and a convenient spot to re-fuel and get some work done thanks to the internet coverage.
