Derrick VC Rest Area Review
Location: Boxers Creek, NSW

Derrick VC Rest Area is a free campsite in a pretty spot nestled into the bushland just off the main road in Boxers Creek, NSW. If you can deal with the noise of the main road, then this place has plenty to offer.
The grass and gravel sites are large and level, there’s two drop toilets, picnic tables, plus a convict built bridge which is definitely worth a little explore.

The Derrick VC Rest Area provided a good spot for an overnight stay. It was super convenient to the main road, although might be a bit noisy for some.
There was plenty of level space to pull up and park, with both grassy and gravel spots available. We’re told the toilets can get a bit dirty at times, but they seemed fine when we visited. There was water available too, although not suitable for drinking.
At night there were quite a few trucks passing on the main road, but if you can handle some traffic noise then this free campsite will provide a good stopover.
