Big 4 Bargara Beach Caravan Park Review

Location: Bargara, QLD
The Big 4 Bargara Beach Caravan Park is located at 25 Fred Courtice Avenue in Bargara, right on the shores of Bargara Beach in Queensland. The park is only minutes from the town centre and is a popular place for travellers wanting to check out the large Loggerhead Turtle nesting site at Mon Repos, or those continuing on to Lady Elliott or Lady Musgrave islands.
The park has a tropical feel, and offers accommodation ranging from budget to deluxe, with both cabins and caravan sites available, powered and unpowered, shady or sunny, and concrete or grass.

We stayed at Bargara Beach Campround for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The park was set on lovely well maintained grasslands with mature trees and bush at the rear – there was even a few local kangaroos which the kids loved! We were directly opposite the beach, and a short (and scenic) bike ride or stroll into town. The local town offered cafes, restaurants, fishing and surfing spots, even a golf course if that’s your thing.
The staff at the caravan park were lovely and there were a number of site options with either grass or concrete slabs to choose from. We did feel it was quite expensive considering there was no pool or any of the usual bells and whistles that a Big 4 campground usually offers.
There were two amenity blocks with a large shared camp kitchen and laundry facilities.
If you decide to stay at The Big 4 Bargara Beach Caravan Park between November and March, we highly recommend you visit Mon Repos and check out the largest Loggerhead Turtle nesting site on Australia’s east coast. We visited in June so missed this, but have heard that it’s great for the kids!
All-in-all this was a clean, convenient and picturesque caravan park – if you can handle the price tag, then it’s worth a visit.
